Is this a casting defect in the block?

The oil supply line from the pump to the rockers rubbed against it and now has a hole in it. Is it safe to grind it down?

Also is the copper oil line just compression fittings I can make from a plumbing supply store?

if you throw a burr up towards the top "flat surface" (after u grind) use a wet stone or a metal block with sand paper wrapped around it to make the area flat again. You probably wont find 4mm copper tube locally but maybe 5/32 will work.

Ahh OK that's what I thought. Basically just make sure there's no upwards burr or lip?

There's a Jeep shop by my place that works on old CJs, hopefully they'll be able to help.
