Is Noise from the cam gear common?

It wasn't as noisy before the rebuild, but maybe everything else is just quieter? The old cam gear was real beat up looking. So replaced it with a new gear, is it possible that its not getting good lube? Oil pressure is very good, but maybe the gear isn't getting enough?

i dont think ive ever heard a cam gear. does it sound like rubbing on the cover? did you mess with the squirter? not put it back on or have it not facing the gears?

Well i did the rebuild with the original gear, and was not happy with the sound. So i bought a new gear, and the sound is different, but it is the sound that i'm not happy with. I gave it a couple cranks while it was open to observe the the oil flow. Seemed more than enough, and right on the intersection.

well it should be fine, w/o hearing it i couldnt tell you if its normal or not, a good running inline 6 sounds like a sewing machine to me.
