hi there
my 70 series with 1kz is giving kinda jerky drive at times.. like the power sinks and then revives. Can it b a dirty TPS or some thing else?
thnx every one

I'd say download the 1KZ-TE repair manual and start going through everything.

The ECU's on these are known to have failed capacitors and could cause this problem.

Other things I could think of are the RPM pick-up sensor on the top of the pump, or the crank pick-up sensor. Check the connectors/wiring, and check the sensor resistance as per the manual. Check the Spill Control Valve, Check the Timing Control Valve.

Really it is no different than troubleshooting any EFI system. However you should make sure you understand the system first.

Read this to understand the system: V 3 P5ZGR01.pdf

Here is the 1KZTE manual: 1KZ-TE Engine Manual
