So I found a nail neatly stashed on the inside of my tire yesterday... took her out and plugged it and aired her back up. The puncture is a little too close to the sidewall for comfort, so I thought I'd just keep it around for a spare...

then I took off my spare and found THIS!

$800 past the initial investment in a SS exhuast and my EMS system is STILL causing me headaches...The spare was apparently up against the exhaust and it melted a the lug....its deeper than the lug and into the tire. I'm assuming this us way more sketch than the near sidewall puncture so I'm running the plugged tire on the rear axle.

The pics are a bit bad of the tread, but I had enough on there to get me through another 6 months. Is it time to throw in the towel on these tires? I was also hoping to delay this and replace the 270k mile motor this summer THEN upgrade to 35"'s.....ARGH.

Are these two tires too dangerous to run?

bummer on the exhaust damage
to me they already look pretty worn and slick for winter driving.
the plugged tire might be ok - i'd take it to a shop and have it assessed by an expert and re-done with their vulcanized patch kit

scrap em, those look toast.
