Is it ok to use mobil 1 in a high miles 3FE?

Anyone run this in a Cruiser? I was thinking of running it in mine after running a couple cans of BG oil treatment. I ran M! 10w-40 in my E34 that had 190K on it and never had any leaks. From what I understand M1 has seal conditioners that will keep you seals in good shape provided they aren't already toasted. If you don't have leaks before you switch to a synthetic you shouldn't have leaks afterward.

Do a search with my name and you will find oil threads up the kazoo about this. Skip the BG oil treatment, you will do more harm than any good. Just switch over.

A lot of people run M1 0w-40 with good results, Cary has had very good results with it. So far it has been my best oil analysis result but it was also the most recent, my wear metals seam to be recovering from a spike of some sort and going down over time.

But Mobil recently reduced the antiwar additives to comply with ISLAC GF-4/API SM,

The new M1 EP is ILSAC GF-3/API SL, unfortunately 10w-40 the weight I would be most interested in is very hard to find, leaving only 10w-30 and 15w-50 as possibilities.

Jury is still out weather the reduced antiwar additives in API-SM are going to have any real world effect.
