My AHC pump died and considering the rest of the system was also not looking too good me and my trusted mechanic decided to put in the Ironman foamcell kit.
Now I am struggeling with two weird issues:
1. There seems to be too much vibration after about 40-50MPH. It feels like the entire car is becoming somewhat nervous at these speeds. Hard to really describe it. Even on relatively good roads it feels as if the car is constantly unsettled. The suspension feels firm but good at slower speeds. Alignment has been done after installing suspension. New tires (285/75) were installed on stock rims (R16). The wheels have gotten balanced as well. The only thing that confused me is that caster was seemingly set to 0 from what I saw from the picture my mechanic sent me from the alignment. Also the steering feels very nervous and all over the place at faster speeds (40MPH+) when there are ruts or otherwise uneven road surfaces.
2. When taking off from a standstill there’s sometimes a slight hesitation, as if there’s a bit of play in the driveline that has to be taken up before the tyres start moving. This only seems to happen when the car is on an uneven surface.
The diff drop kit was not installed yet as it had to be ordered from the US and will likely only arrive early next month. Maybe this will fix things? Although to be honest the CV axle angles seem to be quite good as it is. The car was set up with a rake of about 1 inch.
What comes to mind considering these issues with the Ironman kit? I read that the stock control arms are not enough to achieve a good amount of castor but others don't seem to have this issue?
