Good afternoon,

Just doing as I’m told.

Currently in a 97 LX450. Not triple locked, she’s got some rust on her, and 270k miles on her. Got her two weeks ago, bald stock size tires, non existent brake pads all around, leaky rear passenger caliper, alignment all over the place, and a non working abs unit. Came on a fairly new iron man 2.5 inch lift, arb front bumper, winch, CarPlay and a fully done audio system.

Have since put some Yokohama Geolandar MT 315/75r16s, rebuilt all calipers, some new brake hard lines, and an OEM master cylinder. Some point this week she’ll go in to fix the alignment and then I’ll get her registered up.

I have owned a 3rd gen 4Runner and a 2007 LX470 in the past. I’ve owned countless other Toyotas in the past but figured I won’t mention them here since this an off road forum

Love the tires!

Looks like you have part time hubs up front...that's possibly the real reason you don't have working ABS.
Agreed...try and lock the front hubs and go for a ride to see if it cures the ABS issues. A few things to check would be if the sensors are still up front and that you have the tone rings on the CV's (would need a creative angle to look in the top of the knuckle fill hole). The reason I say to check is that if the axles are not stock, the PO may not have moved the tone rings over to new axles knowing the ABS was deleted by the part time kit. There are kits out there to convert to an external tone ring if you really care about functioning ABS when the front axle is unlocked.

Alignment wise, you'll only be able to adjust the toe, but it'll give you readings on your other settings which can be changed with plates or arms if needed. Be sure to have the shop check for any roasted bushings in the links front and rear...unfortunately it may be hard to tell unless they are pulled for inspection, but a decent shop should have some clues.

Welcome and good luck, it's a great looking rig to start with!

Yes they are part time hubs according to the PO. He said something about it being JDM spec, idk too much when it comes to 80 series quirks so Im just going with the flow lol

Thank you! Yea I got it aligned, no issues there, been daily driving it the last couple days with zero issues except for a pesky rear turn signal. Ive been doing some digging on these forums, going to chase the issue down this weekend. Replaced the bulb the other day and no success, even replaced it with a couple others just in case I bought a bad bulb. Turns out Im getting a good ground to the socket, but I am getting no power.

I do have a bunch of tools and even my own heavy duty hydraulic press and did even buy new bushings all the way around to refresh everything, but it wasn't needed. Looks like PO recently installed all new bushings and castor correction bushings when he installed the 2.5" lift.
