Good afternoon. I've been a long time lurker and finally pulled the trigger on a 2008 GX470 in Titanium Metallic with Grey interior and the Sport Package (just under 140k miles). The vehicle is clean as heck with rock chips and one small ding on the rear passenger body cladding.
I'm retired military in Colorado. I intend to build it into an overland rig for memories with my son.
I've got some various mods on order but for now the focus is to establish a maintenance baseline.
Oil Change: Valvoline High Mileage Synthetic 5W30
Front Diff, Rear Diff, and Transfer Case: Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90
New Bosch Icon Wiper Blades in Front, Bosch OEM in Rear
Weather Tech Floor Mats First and Second Row
I'm diving in deeper this week to see if it needs a timing belt / water pump done. It appears the radiator was replaced with another OEM radiator at some point but the records don't show it.
The truck needs brakes soon so I have on order GX460 Front Calipers with Centric Vented Rotors and Akebono pads on all four corners.
After that, the real fun begins and I am open to thoughts, comments, and suggestions as I go through this. I don't know what I don't know and I'm always open to learning from others.
