Hi all:

Andrew here, (relatively) new to Victoria. Hope you will excuse my posting in your local board, I'd like to reach local Cruiser folks. Moved to YYJ 2.5 years ago, I was previously in Vancouver and was part of Coastal Cruisers for a time. Have had a 76 and 79 FJ40, 86 HJ60 and an 84 BJ42- Just have the BJ42 now and sadly will be looking to part with it this year. Tub is shot and frame is rough, but have recently put in new clutch/brakes/transmission seals/exhaust and other stuff. If you are looking for a big project truck or parts, this would be a serious candidate as it does indeed have 5 speeds, PS, etc and lots of solid running gear. Starts and runs fantastic, all recent work was done by Steve T. at EBI Cruiser in Coquitlam.

If you know folks who may be interested, would sincerely appreciate hearing from you. Please do be in touch with any questions, happy to provide details. Many thanks in advance for your interest.

Cheers,
Andrew

Noooo not Toshi He will strip it down and store all the parts in Seapotato's goat shed
Yeah but then I'll build a truck out of them for free, because at some point he's clearly going to end up in a third world prison fighting off his cellmate's amorous advances with a sharpened toothbrush handle.

My girl wants a 40 series should I let her drive mine or buy another... humm might have to buy another I like having a spare.

Welcome! Sorry to hear you are parting with your last cruiser!

I'm sure you will have many people contact you about your 42, but if you want to see new life breathed into it with one of the best possible restorations, please consider slowandsteady BJ. Great guy, very talented, and will do that rare truck justice.

Hi Everyone:
Just wanted to say many thanks for your responses and interest. Did not anticipate quite the number of folks getting in touch so I will definitely get you all some more info. This upcoming weekend I'll put together a write-up on the specs and take some pictures to assist. Have PMd folks back directly and let everyone know that they can have a look / decide, so no worries there. Thanks again for your messages and I will post some more details ASAP.

Can't imagine why you'd think that...

Nice of you to give me a sharpened toothbrush... The good news is I escaped out of south america last Friday and I'm back in Sweden! I hear the prisons here are actually pretty nice...

Hi everyone: As many have requested, posting some pictures of the truck. Many of you have been in touch to let me know you've seen it, so that's a plus. There's some representative tub / frame shots.

A brief synopsis of recent work done:
  • Clutch
  • Brakes front and rear, incl. drums and rotors
  • Transmission maintenance /seals etc.
  • Wheel Bearings
  • New exhaust from the headers back
5 speed, PS. Has a voltage reducer installed for 12v and has an aftermarket radio/CD. I've got (most of) a soft top with soft doors as well as a bikini top for it as well.

I owe a bunch of you guys phone calls who have been in touch over PM. Will do my best to do so first couple of days this week.

Cheers, Andrew

So I'm curious to know, did you sell this already?

He told me what he was offered already and i told him to go eBay. Pretty high in my opinion but oh well. Makes me consider putting my 42 on eBay

Hi All: Thanks for the continued interest. Yes still for sale, taking offers with some outside BC, but good solid offers from southern BC folks mostly. Won't be going to eBay as I'm not keen on the hassle and/or long distance shipping. So yes as mentioned hoping to find a BC buyer. I think I've talked to most of the people from the board who were interested but if you'd like to be in touch please do. I will be looking for offers until at least the end of the month / end of next week.

Thanks again everyone and it's been great chatting with many of you through the board. Please don't hesitate to be in touch. Cheers.
