Looks like Toyota Oil filters in the states for our 81's have doubled to +\- 20$ (ohh no! Lol) when they used to be 10.

Now the question is have they double up here to 100+ a filter? Lol

Kinda was thinking it MAY be tsunami related?

Are the filters labeled Toyota or Denso? I presume it is Denso which makes them and you might be able to find the Denso labled filters cheaper. I know I am able to get Denso filters for my TD4.2 - both the full-flow and the semi-bypass one. Nice filters and a very good anti-drainback valve.

John they are labeled Toyota, I would assume they are made by Denso, but I am unsure of a Denso part number for them.

Is anyone running Wix, Jason? Ive heard good things and thought the price was somewhere around 25? Ill have to look into it.

Cruiser Dan apparently doesn't ship to Canada
I have had good luck with 1st Toyota
Beno apparently is now a manager with Larry miller Toyota, might be worth seeing how he matches up to 1sttoyota

I have heard a mix of things for fuel filters
20,000kms
10,000kms
Once a year every may or June

What does one recommend?
 
Firsttoyota (tituswil) is under a dollar cheaper but if u send it to the border don't you have to pay sales tax for Washington? plus the HST (if they say so) when bringing across.

I just ordered from Onur this morning, he is at the sister store as Dan so same prices. When everything is said and done they are the same price as Toyota discount web sites but I'd rather give business to them since they help out in the tech sections a lot.

Karter I've heard ever 2-3 oil changes which would put it in the window you have heard, guess it all depends on how fresh n clean the fuel you get. Like superstore diesel, that s*** sucks mega balls, it's not worth the 3.5 cents off.. But that's another story

Is that fuel debate already started in another thread? If not, start one up. I'd love to hear reasons for why it's claimed to be s***. <--- LOL...See!! :D
 
You don't need a box at the border, you can ship to Blaine Enterprises in Blaine and pick it up yourself. If you want, add my name to the shipment and I'll pick them up. I cross quite often, fuel is a bit cheaper in the US. Make sure you give me a copy of the invoice, Canada Customs doesn't have much of a sense of humour when you can't present paperwork.

Funny, I actually prefer SS diesel. Last I heard, they were either getting it from the same refinery in Burnaby that everyone else gets it from or from the Co-op refinery in the prairies - all sweet Canadian crude. I've now done about 130,000 kms on my truck and likely 50-70% of the fuel used has been SS diesel. I bet they go through more diesel here than any other station or card-lock, so you always have fresh diesel. The only diesel my engines don't seem to like is Flying-J diesel. That said, if you got information us oil burners should consider, it would be good to post it in another thread.

If those schedules for 1hz/1hdt are anywhere near true, I'm sure glad my 60 runs an inline pump :eek:. Factory service schedule for a 3B posted here:

Just made a parts order from Onur (Beno) last week. Buying OEM parts from him worked out to almost exactly 1/3 of the price quoted me by my local stealership.
