Intermittent Speedo??

Greetings,

Oddly yesterday the Speedo & Odo on my'93 FZJ80 stopped working for a bit, then started fine...fluctuated kind of wildly then resumed. Same thing this morning & now is fine again. I have driven it about 4,500 miles since I've had it & not one hint of any issues. Can anyone respond with some ideas as to cause & possible correction of problem. Thanks a Ton!

My speedo on my 91 is doing the same, Its time for a new cable probably has some corrsion if the plastic cover started to crack and it is getting stuck, Is my guess, Were in southwest,fl are you located. Im in naples,fl

Well, let's say the cruisergods fixed it. I haven't had any problem now for about a month or so. Works completely fine now. Incidentally, I contacted Cdan for parts info for the cable & he informed me that there is no cable on the '93. Armed with that knowledge I found a couple threads in the 80 series forum that shed some light on it. I have found what I will need to do if the problem pops up again or permanently. Again, I can NOT thank CDan or any of the other fine folks enough that offer help to us needy ones on a regular basis! You all are the best!

THave the same issue, the speedo first starter to only work when the car is warm, then started to jump, the ODO still worked fine. I fiddeled with the wires and then the speedo and ODO stoped working. I replaced the speedo sensor ont he transfercase, but it still does not work...

Any ideas?
