Gday I have to ask for help I have an intermittent no crank no start on 07 hilux 1gr-fe is the motor , Im Aussie no one around here knows much about 1gr-fe they say it don't give much trouble I haven't seen many there isn't a lot of them here either another bloke told me to ask here. What the most likely cause is . If it is something Ive done to it where would I look we have all ready proven it holds fuel pressure or it was when tested but it wasn't giving intermittent no start fault then either. Po606 is the only fault code it sometimes brings up. Its never done it to me when cold and will start eventually after I swear and cry long enough keying the ignition on and off 20 times doesn't help when it doesn't want to start.
The torque app via a blue tooth dongle shows no codes when it wont start
With my great knowledge of Ai (or is it sending me down the garden path) it suggests the crank angle sensor is heat soaked then it cools and it goes again? As its a $120 part with a week wait from Toyota to get said part I rang them Friday should I get one?,So when I give the car to the mechanic to service it he can put that in ? Is it common for a 1gr-fe crank angle sensor to fail as described or is it more likely something else? I don't mind paying the mechanic for a couple of hours diagnostics but if the sensor is cold and the car is starting will the sensor appear to be working when tested what does a toyota mechanic do test or replace then only test if the problem continues . A fair time for a mechanic to back probe and test the cas would be and it would be a s*** of a job . the car has lots of miles on it the cluster has been changed I don't know how far its gone or how much idles time it has it runs all right I've had it for years now. Thanks for reading my story.
As getting a genuine Toyota parts around here all ways takes a week usually longer is why Id like to have it

pretty sure the crank no start was the CAS its nicely hidden behind the ac compressor on the hilux a 20 year machanic that likes toyotas said it was a bugger of a job I got him to change the fuel line as well so he had a really nice fun day.

disregard what I said above Im telling lies . It s done the crank no start on me agian as in it stopped happening for a month or so but no its still happening. P0606 is still coming back weather thats a different problem to crank no start ?
