So a few weeks ago our Pastor asked me to do an object lesson for our kids, I agreed, they are having it outside, in a huge fenced deal we have, well I was gonna do something with nuts and bolts, hands on......2 weeks ago when they had a trained Llama that did tricks, last Sunday they had a pair of miniature donkeys......I determined my nuts and bolt thing was not gonna cut it........so I called a customer/friend that is a herpetologist, Max Peterson, he works with the film industry around DFW and has furnished critters for Walker Tx Ranger and numerous other shows.
I expected him to bring a few snakes and a couple of lizards, I about fell over when he opened his Suburban and there was a 150 lb Galápagos giant tortoise, what a treat for the kids, he also brought several colorful pet snakes and a 6 ft Diamondback, and a Copperhead.

How much for the turtle?

:flamingo:

He ain't fer sale......
I was curious, asked Max yesterday, they are restricted now no more private importation, this one is grandfathered, he's owned it for 10 yrs. He also has to get a permit to cross state lines with him.......he has him insured for 18K:eek::eek:

18k for the turtle is still cheaper than the 30k John D. Hale wanted for a giraffe. :grinpimp:

I'd of gone to church if'n I'd of known I coulda fed a big-ass turtle.
