Interchangeable parts & questions

I have a March 1970 FJ55, which needs a few things. I'm in the looking around stage because I'm at college, but it gives me plenty of time to scope out exactly what I'm going to do once summer hits.

1. Will any year window crank handles fit? Aftermarket options?

2. Will any year interior door handle fit? Aftermarket?

3. I need exterior mirrors and the rear view mirror. Is there any difference in years? Any aftermarket?

4. Will an FJ40 front bumper fit? Aftermarket?

5. Will a standard FJ40 tow hook fit?

6. What is the best place for replacement floor boards and quarter panels? I would love to go with Ehsan, but he is too hard to reach and dealing with an international order seems to be a big headache. Any other options?

If I have to I will custom make anything I cannot obtain, but I would highly prefer replacements. Thanks a lot, guys!!

Any year fits as far as I know and probably any model of Toyota as well.

I believe so.

Yes there are differences on interior mirrors only. Not sure of the year of change. Markets outside of the USA/Canada had different exterior mirrors as well but for USA/Canada they were the same for the entire run.

4. Will an FJ40 front bumper fit? Aftermarket?

Not sure if the '40 and '55 bumper are the same. I'll be watching 'cause the bumper on the '45LV is bent up too. Lots of aftermarket but not necessarily the same look.

5. Will a standard FJ40 tow hook fit?

All 'Cruiser tow hooks should fit. There are a few different style of hooks though.

6. What is the best place for replacement floor boards and quarter panels? I would love to go with Ehsan, but he is too hard to reach and dealing with an international order seems to be a big headache. Any other options?

You're making your own here. There is no '55 sheet metal stuff being made other than perhaps Eshan.

Brian - send me a PM as I can likely provide you with much of the small pieces(mirrors, door handles etc) that you require with respect to your 70 pig ....aftermarket floorpans unavailable - homebrew or salvaged from a derelict pig your only option - see Trollhole's posts with regards to accessing 1/4 panel patches. 40 bumpers do mount up from what I have seen and tow hooks likely feasible as well Duke..... and otherwise - yahhh what Cruiserguy said

the 40 bumper will have to have holes drilled to fit...40 framerails are a tad closer together than the 55 rails.

Brian, regarding sheet metal patches..........found Ehsan very easy to deal with and got the parts here quickly and without any hassles.....also had good experience with rare spares out of OZ!
