When removing the crank pulley nut, I used an old flex plate, and notched it to fit the fan pulley, and it bolted right on to the crank pulley - no problem.

When I put it on, I filler the number 1 cylinder with oil on the compression stroke, and got plenty of pressure on there.

One question, my serpentine belt keeps slipping off the 3rd pulley. It seems like the belt tensioner is pushing it off somehow. Anybody have the same problem?

Something has got to be misaligned. Can you post some pics? Mine has been on for 6000 miles and I have not had this happen, nor have I heard of it happening to anyone else.

Nice write up.. I would be interested in what your "seat in the pants" gain was. Is there much blower whine?

There is not much blower whine. I actually kind of like the whine, but it only happens when you go into boost. It sounds pretty much like a stock motor unless you gun it off the line or you are pushing it hard up a steep grade or accelerating fast. It's a night and day difference. It's not a race car, but I drove a stock 80 a while ago and it seemed like a dog compared to the S/C'd 80.

Yeah, so it is bad ass. Personally, it leaves too much in the air with making sure you have everything positioned correctly.

I like a long bar against the frame. The frame ain't gonna fxxx up. The flexpate might....

The starter with bar against the frame is much easier for me to allow in terms of being sure nothing screws up...

But that is just my :hillbilly: in me...I like chain wrenches....

-o-

don't understand why anyone would jam the flex plate stupid in my opinion so i totally agree with you on the chain wrench but you can just get some strong rope and just lash the main pulley to the frame works awesome
just wrap the rope around the main pulley a bunch of times, make sure to cross the rope over itself so it locks it self in i think you need about 5 wraps then wrap it around the frame and hold it taught as you spin the pulley bolt the rope will tighten up
