Dunno how many roadies are out there, but I just installed a sweet new saddle and seatpost on my Specialized Roubaix. I've had it for 2 seasons, and when I built it up I used an existing light seatpost and a saddle I had around unused to save a little money. Always wanted something to replace them, so this week I ordered a Specialized S Works carbon post, and a Specialized Toupe saddle. Talk about light - woohoo!

Spent about a half hour carefully measuring and fitting so I don't mess up the expensive fit I paid for at a shop when I built it up. I have to say I'm a little nervous as it's the first high end saddle I've ever had and the thing looks tiny. It's also the first saddle I've ever sat on with that new 'center groove' thing to relieve pressure on the ol' happy nerve.

Anyhow, thought some of the other tech freaks would appreciate it. I'm getting psyched for the upcoming season and today was my second ride on the road this year - nice to get off the trainer a couple times during the winter.

I'm sure your anal enough you did it automatically, but make sure to torque the seatpost bolt with a torque wrench to the proper spec (park tool has general torque specs if you don't have one for your bike). It appears that most breakage issues with carbon parts (bars and posts) are related to improper torquing.

Sweet.

I just bought an ancient campy equipped roadbike off eBay and I'm starting to go through it, mainly to have something disposable to ride around with my four year old.

But I just cut up an rear old racing wheel and am looking at a campy low flange rear 32 hole hub. Now to find some spokes and a rim and see if my dad can find my old park nipple driver in the garage and post it to me, and I'll show my son how to build a wheel!

Good times.
