Got a tech question on the rear step for a 40. I have a step off of a 78 that has the mounting tabs turned in. I have also seen them with the tabs turned out. The innies appear to mount to holes in the frame while the outies mount over the bumperettes and share holes. Any idea if there was a year that these went from one to the other or some other criteria that would call for one over the other?

Thanks

The early trucks, to 08/73 had the step with the mouting flange on the inside of the step.

09/73 and later, the mouting flange was on the outside.

Poser, thanks for the response. I got the same feedback from Marv Spector.
