I took some parts / materials I had laying around and built a decent and inexpensive storage solution for over the wheel well hump.

Parts used - Driver side 3rd row seat bracket mount
Medium sized ammo can
Piece of 3/16 " steel plate
Two pieces of 1/8 " by 1' angle iron
Four 1/4" bolts with nylock nuts and 8 washers
Two misc. brackets (plate steel)

Cut the steel plate and angle iron to size, weld together. Drill four holes in the angle iron to secure ammo can to it. Modified the two misc. brackets to fit the width of the plate. Tack in place. Install seat bracket mount and set plate with brackets on it to get a flat orientation. (brackets set on the two larger round portions of the seat bracket) Made marks, pulled seat mount bracket, put in vice, line up marks, tack in place. Set in vehicle to verify level orientation, pull and weld in fully. Minor clean up with grinder...welding spatter removal. Paint bracket. Attach ammo can, paint and let sit for a day for paint to cure. Put on stickers ( free HP lol ) and attach in the cruiser. Overall cost was around $20 or less. Same process can be done to the passenger side but in my case, a 37" tire lives in that spot so the ammo can wouldn't fit.

Nice! I've had ammo cans since forever to do this,
Got any pics of your brackets before you mounted the can?

I've been thinking about this too; was pondering using the QD brackets off the 3rd row seats to make them...QD. More flexibility with the space available.

I had the exact same plan. My passenger side wheel well hump is exposed and I have a 3rd row seat bracket. I've got the materials to build a shelf for storage but I really like the ammo can idea and I've got two ammo cans that would work perfect.
