They are built like tanks. Over the years I've read many stories of surviving wrecks that more than likely would have been fatalities in wranglers. One of the more recent stories:

Saw this on Facebook FJ Cruiser Nation. Stolen Dodge Ram being chased ran red light and T boned this FJC. Walked away with broken arm and minor injuries.
