In regards to rotating tires..

I rotate mine when I change the oil. Takes fifteen minutes.

This way I get a look at the brake pads, rotors and all that good stuff. You don't get that from any shop - except when your brakes are shot and you need a full brake job.

I don't ever let my brake pad indicators touch my rotors. I replace the pads when I SEE that it's needed and keep on driving. No turning the rotors or replacing for that matter. The whole rotor turning thing is a Stealership rip off.

The one closest to my home/work does a good job -- everything by the book...that being said, I still watch every step the tire monkeys take along the way...

plus I can check the brakes and look around while they are doing it. Also it is nice to get them balanced with the rotation, that way you getting the most life out of the tires. They do go out sometimes after wheeling
