Went our wheeling on Monday. Petra and I in Poo, Ciaran and his wife in their built BJ60, John (friend of Ciarans) in his HZJ73, and Rob Millson in his newly lifted BJ60. Plans were for a casual get out and explore some trails day. Also, Petra’s bro joined us, last day in Canada before heading to Germany for a few months. And, a young fellow who is staying with Ciaran and his wife for a while.
Started up Norrish Creek Road, stopped at 6’ Under and checked it out, then started looking for access to Sonny Lake, then Thurston Lake. We were turned around by deactivated bridges, roads and access points. After few trips up and down Norrish FSR nudging in here and there as mentioned, we did not get stopped at the Dickson Lake road, so we continued up to Dickson Lake. Assisted a fellow who had gone off the road on his bike ½ way along the trail. Our numbers made short work of what would have been an issue for just the two of them. We continued and came out at Statlu FSR, had a few minor obstacles on the way to Margret Creek FSR, looping out to Norrish Creek again. A few of us finished up the day for some sustenance at Lou’s Bar and Grill on Hwy #11 before heading home.
Was a great day.
Thanks folks!
