Has anyone actually tried or succeeded? What were the pitfalls?

Well the pitfalls are usually that the quality of the vehicle is in poor condition. Yes, there are nice ones but if you've not inspected several and know what to look for then I wouldn't buy one site-unseen. You can do the import yourself if you have the seller or someone you trust arrange the export. Or LCD can do it for you end-to-end. Seems like there's always a few for sale in Florida, sometimes a good deal, other times with high mark-up.
