x2.

A 4.3 is a small block Chevy with the back two cylinders cut off. If this is such a bad choice- why do so many people use the bigger brother for a swap-in engine?

Actually it's half of each of the middle cylinders that's cut out.

A 4.3 vortec has at least as much power as many small block v-8s and less weight. The bellhousing adapters all fit, as do the motor mounts. I would absolutely consider a 4.3 swap over a V-8 swap. It's stupid reliable, cheap and available everywhere.

A toyota 3.4 swap is pretty do-able too, but pretty expensive.

I suggest you scrap it, Ill come by and pick it up.

It's time to pull up your boot straps and quit wining like a girl , just fix the thing. :flipoff2:

Cant belive it took 12 posts to finally glove slap him.

real men run 3.4's.

im bored.

It really gets interesting when you look at the torque curve...

Yeah, but if you can't fab or don't have a welder 90% of that swap is already done... And with off-the-shelf parts...

No bell housing adapter and expensive custom clutch pieces to.

But it won't have the torque a 4.3 puts out... that's damn good motor...

Trever, do you have emission where you live?

If not I'd take all the vac line stuff off? de smog it?

Obviously something was put back incorrectly when the head was reassembled. I would put my money on either your timing chain is one tooth off, your distrib was put in one tooth off or you mixed up two vaccum lines. Most likely the first two
