I bought the Leather & Dirt Dash Mount (Toyota Land Cruiser Dash Mount (2008–2015) | OEM-Style LC200 Accessory Rail by Leather & Dirt - https://leatheranddirt.com/interior-parts/dash-mount-2008-land-cruiser/) and will be using two ram ball setups plus arms for Smartphone mounting, one facing driver, one facing passenger. I also plan on purchasing a forward-facing Dashcam to mount on it as well in the future. I know that many Dashcams are direct wire, but it doesn't necessarily change my needs. Trying to find a setup that will charge the two smartphones, potentially run a dash cam, and ideally have the ability to charge a third SMALLER device (third smartphone, Nintendo Switch, iPad, etc). No need for laptop charging.

What I need is a direct wired 12V hub that ideally has 3-4 USBC ports and is ignition switched. I don't want to mess with one that has an on/off switch if at all possible. I figured I could just tap into the factory round plug as the ignition trigger. I'd be fine if only two of the 4 ports fast charge, and I know dash cams seem to run around 5V.

Anyone done anything like this or have recommendations?

I used a couple “add a fuse” for a dash cam and a radar detector setup for switched power. I ran one from pax side fuse box (seat heater iirc) and the other from the driver’s side….trailer power fuse? I can’t remember which on driver’s side. Just make sure you put the fuses in the correct orientation or your 2-2.5A add a fuse will blow whenever you try to use your 20/30A option you’ve tapped.

Im looking into swapping the factory USB charge port with something that has a usb-c port

This is really Interesting. Might end up doing one of these on Driver's side and then leveraging the cigarette lighter circuit for a passenger solution. Thanks for linking.

I'll keep this thread updated. I still think using the cigarette lighter as my ignition trigger to a direct line off the battery would be the best solution for the amount of draw I want.
