Ignition cylinder for non- locking 1979 FJ40

Be careful with Matt. I ordered a set of locks and keys and he sent the wrong fuel door lock and took weeks and months to get it replaced.

He did tell me the the locking ignition switchs will work you have to drill out the boss in the column cover.

Matt’s a good guy, super knowledgeable. He did make the key from the door lock code and it works perfectly in those. I think the ignition cylinder was not original so that’s why it didn’t work. He was very helpful with key situation and only took a couple weeks to send the key he made. Weirdly, the gas lock didn’t work either but both doors worked with the new key. Head scratcher.

Yeah I don’t know why they put the plate there instead of the regular spot. I do love those original California plates though.

Turn ket to acc, push in pin and pull out assembly.

New locks from City Racer.

Turn key to acc and push in.

Done.
