Yes. In my experience, most people that post on enthusiast sites tend to worry over everything and fix stuff that isn't broken. If you aren't towing heavy loads long distances -or- taking a series of 2 minute drives all the time, the factory interval should be fine.

It doesn't hurt to change the factory gear oils and fluids at 5 years old. That includes front and rear differentials, transfer case, brake fluid, AHC suspension fluid, engine coolant, and power steering fluid. The only factory fluid I have left in my 2013 with 55k miles is the transmission fluid which I will replace in 1-2 years.

You can change the rear differential yourself in less than half an hour and see the condition of your differential oil.

Recognize that Toyota in their standard recommended maintenance intervals, is already conservative.

In the mechanical world, there is also a concept of MIF - Maintenance Induced Failure. The act of performing maintenance, can in itself induce failure. So over maintenance, when not necessary, can increase the probability of other failure modes. Either by introducing contaminants, stripping bolts, moving/stretching parts, compromising seals, the list goes on.

That's true, which is why care should be taken. Take your time and do it right, and change gaskets when necessary.

Regarding stripping bolts, hasn't been a concern. I always use a multi speed impact to remove and torque wrench to torque to spec. Stripped bolts happen much more often with breaker bars.

Of all the maintenance I have done, the only one that is REALLY noticeable is the brake fluid change. This really improved the brake feel - the characteristic "squeal" is greatly reduced and pedal response is improved.

All maintenance is documented on drivers.lexus.com for the next owner to have.
