i feel for you, man. i've got about ten horror stories like yours from working on my cruiser and learning as i go. i won't get into any of those stories now because i don't want to ruin anyones day! but good on you for persevering with a positive attitude and figuring it out.

Does anyone else find it a little misleading that the MAF picture shows the friction disc upside down in relation to the clutch? Most of the friction disc's I've seen have a clear statement such as "engine side" written on them...

A hired photographer or a mud rookie;) must have taken that pic, not an actual tech! The tech at MAF said that "which way does the clutch go" is one of the most, if not THE most common question he gets... Maybe they should start painting the words "engine side" on them instead of DT-075 on the tranny side. Clutch was made in Japan, maybe DT-075 means "tranny side" in Japanese... Kinda like TEQ actually means TOYODA or what ever:D That's what their tech line is for, I guess. I should have called em' to begin with. I wouldn't be waiting to put the tranny in a second time right now; it would be a done deal!
