I recently purchased 2 Igloo 40qt "Max Cold" ice coolers (rollers)...
and, in closer study, found that the 40qt rollers already have established provisions (perches) for the mounting of a raised dry box/tray...
tho' the igloo website showed no optional tray for this particular cooler
:dunno:
so...... I made my own using some small plastic boxes, mfg'd by Sterlite...
purchased this one from Target.
There was some trimming required... as width is the only correction needed
and so.. requires trimming the outer, upper lip/edge off both ends of the box, including the lid's ends
probably trimmed off 1/4" off both ends.
that done... it'll just drop right in 'dere
* with dry box installed, both the cooler and dry box lid's fit precisely,
and in coordination with each other, in the way, the dry box resides on it's mounting perch.
Meaning:
when the cooler lid is pivoted down (closed)... it's lowest interior surface rests flush against the dry box's upper lid surface, sandwiching that...
and in doing so... assures that the interior dry box lid cannot be dislodged or fall off...
nor can the box shift out or off of it's perch.
(^ well as long as the cooler's lid is strapped down.
Here's what the ends of the box n lid look like... after trimming
this particular Sterlite box had a locking tab mechanism on each end... so those were removed as well.
I needed two
