I propose an FJ40 Tech video section..get me footage and I can edit and post it!

Hi All,

Scouring the web I have notice a real lack of tech videos regarding the FJ40 land cruiser...you tube etc. That being said...It seems we have many long time forum members here who are very experienced FJ40 techs who can do this stuff in there sleep...then there are those like me who just picked one up and are working through the "same old boring issues' that the senior members have already done years ago....

I propose a new FJ40 tech video section on the site or a "You Tube" channel covering the basics. I am prepared to lend my sony vegas video editing skills to the cause if experienced senior forum member can just provide some of the raw video footage....anything...simple Iphone video,flip video etc...I can take any of it and edit it into a nice clean video for posting on a IH8MUD or a you tube channel.

Here are some videos I have done for my company...no FJ40 content..just guitar amps

If we could all agree on a set of core subjects that come up week in and week out like drum brake adjustment, carb adjustment,body rust etc....we could start gathering footage and get it done....could be really cool and expand into other more complicated areas as time goes on like suspension systems, V8 conversions etc

I can even gather still photo shots of previous repair threads and string those together with the proper text / lingo as well!

Youtube is a great idea....IH8MUD is taken already tho (sadly, I met the guy a few times, and he said he's pass it along, and never followed up with me on it...ah well...)

Hi Woody!

Understood...I was thinking more of one tech video page of which "approved" technical videos could be posted for all the basics...not a bunch of random videos all over the boards..but a direct link to the you tube channel would be just fine also.

I would be happy to set up a You Tube channel as well for the forum..."The real IH8MUD" is another option

Let me know and I will help anyway I can...if you would rather not deal with it I understand as well.

I do like the idea....does Main Page - IH8MUD Wiki allow video uploads? that'd be the ideal way to manage, since some things are universal among models...

I don't believe so...but no worries...we could have all the links to each appropriate video present in it correct section....
