a valve train for an F motor! I promise not to abuse it.....

I finally found the cause of my backfire! The shaft and pedestal for the #6 cylinder were broke. Not just any old broke, cracked off and slappin' around broke!

Looks like I have some real decisions to make. Fix the junk I got or do I go the SBC route. I do know a guy with a full Chebby drive train looking for a home. Either way I'll have to hold off on everything until the bride is back gainfully employed.

Thanks for the info guys! I'm leaning towards just redoing the valve train. It'll be cheaper and get me on the road faster!

Now I know why that thing was so cheap...

All you need to swap an F head is about 30 min, and a small crane.

That rocker shaft shouldn't be so hard to find.

I'm pretty sure I no longer have one, but I'll look today.
