Should have the engine back from the machine shop middle of next week

Clint & i were discussing shifters, any advice from the rest of the gang?

What do you all run for mufflers? I can get some Magna-flows for 27.00 each
it's Summits version of the 40 series flowmaster
running stock exh. manifolds & duals.

Got the internal beadlocks on the way for my wheels

Internal beadlocks!! U da bitch!!
That would be a great option for a muffler, not too loud but when your foot is heavy you know whats there. Price sounds good too. You running true duals? Have a cross over pipe? If not, add one.
Shifters? everything else is cool, trick Tony stuff....how bout a column shift.

No column shift column for a LC
Gotta go with a floor unit for positive action
Yes true duals. Why a crossover?

Good news is tranny is good
Guy that rebuilt it bent the shift rod inside it
Saved $ on that one
Having a shift kit put in

this thread sucks!

There are no pics of tire porn....rim porn....hell im not even sure if Ive seen a pic of the truck yet.

10 pages long.....

Shame Tony.....Shame!

A crossover will make the exhaust gasses pull through more effectively.

I like Lokar and Art Carr for shifters.

True plus the less realestate taken up by big hot pipes the better. Its not a performance car.

Big hot pipe joke in...3...2...1...

Oh and art-cars are like sex in your hand.

You do have to be very careful running both pipes down the left side above the skid plate. The shifter cable gets really hot. I think I went through 4 $60 cables before I got it sorted out. I do get to say I did a whole day of wheeling the Cliffs in 1st gear now. Real wheelers never back up.

My solution was to run a Y-pipe right at the engine. I only have a single exhaust.

So single exhaust will flow better & take up less room..........I'm sold

That's it!!!

I'm gonna post up pics, even though I don't really have anything good to show yet

I can't take the pressure anymore

Some pics

The first one is my centered rear axle no brakes on it cause I'm waiting on my rotors.
Second is my wheels, no tires on them cause I'm waiting on my beadlock inserts
Third is the tires, waiting on the beadlocks

third is my front axle (62) it's empty cause I'm waiting on my parts from Ruff Stuff so I can spring over it.

More pics after supper!

These first two are especially for John....This is the jank "high Steer" (i use that term loosely in this situation) that the PO built. Looks like someone cut the arm part off a steering arm & welded it to a normal steering arm & then made it "safe" by welding a gusset on it....No Thanks!! not for me, That would be like putting a jack stand on top of 2x4s on top of brake drums to hold up a vehicle....oh wait....disregard that last part.....anyway & the last pic is of my garage floor covered in floor dry, drying up the mess my engine & tranny made.
It also represents the space that is empty while I wait on my parts

I promise to post many more pics as parts arrive & things progress.

Forgot to mention, check out the home made spring perches on that front axle in the last post.

This final pic for tonight is of the "car" I am driving while both of my rigs are down for parts swaping.

It is a 92 Mercury Sable, I call it the Disable . It has a right rear strut that is frozen solid, bright lights only, 1 wiper speed, a tranny that slips & it gets almost 40 miles to the pint of power steering fluid. Overlook the rust, the puddles of water in the trunk & the mis-matched tires, along with the low gutteral growl from the PS pump & it is almost like a real car. That is what $75.00 will buy in the used car market these days.
