I found some sweet HID retrofit kits for 06/07 headlights

Could you send me their prices? I have some broken headlights and are looking for a set or maybe two sets of cheaper replacements for my race truck. One of them will probably be equipped with HID lights. I tried to buy the same set as mounted in the blue truck from Slee, but after trying this 3 times (and paying for it) they didn't send me anything. The did refund the money, I must add. But I still have no headlight replacements. I did like the LED lights in Slee's car.
BTW, are you a member of the Dutch Landcruiser club as well? Are you going to the meeting in Beesd? That is 10 minutes from my home, so I'm thinking of going there...

Well... I can give it a go... i've been looking at the lights that Slee has aswell. They aren't very good quality though. Seems the lenses go slightly yellowish after a while. But I quess its worth a try.. They are not expensive especially with the dollar/euro at the moment.

I bought stuff in the past that wasn't worth a dime to some other peepz but it did the trick for me.

The other (normal) lights... well if you wanna do the conversion on those lights it's best to sent them directly to the retrofitters. (NOT cheap) Saves on shipping cost and time. I have some links and some price info on email. Sent me an email so I can forward you the mails i received from the retrofitters. My email is in your pm box here at MUD.

I'm not a member of the landcruiser club... Ill look into it. When is that meeting? Is it a show your ride meeting or something like going offroad in a prepped piece of terrain. Like they sometimes do in the neighbourhood of Rosmalen.

!00 series headlights sux hugh...?

ive been thinking about trying to retrofit projectors into my '99 headlights....has anyone done that before?

Mate first time here.
This seems to be a common thought. I have had hid kits for 4 years in my 99 100series, no problems, never blown a globe or blast. But it seems the reflectors are getting ether old and oxidizing a bit, or just dirty. So yes, i too want projector light source. The factory aftermarket clusters look quite ****y.
I got 6000k in the low, 4300k in the high and spotlights.
Our standard factory clusters as you know are well built so retro fitting to these has my vote.
I found a pair of universal, bi xenon projector units. They had some installation pics that looked really easy!!! I think a big part of hid globe application is the bulb distance from the reflector....just from what i have read and played around with hand held torches and spotlights.
I thought the bi (high and low beam)idea was good, depending if you converted the high and low beam globes on your cluster, you could potentially have quad high and quad low beam...... AN EXTREME, think it would attract unwanted attention though. BUT, to convert the low beam globe would be cool. You would have low beam on, hit the high beam and you would have your low beam light brighten up to a high beam globe intensity and your choice of high beam globe would also be going.
I have also converted my IPF spotlights to hid with great results!!! Shame about the headlight cluster. Its a tough call if there better than halogen.:bang:
Thats in my particular reflectors, i have seen mates with amazing results, i keep coming back to the reflector shape and globe distance from the reflector. Bit random but hey, you might get something from that. Good luck man!

Pretty old thread, but...

you know that hid's in the high beam location with drl's and for flashing does not work right.?.?.?.

IMO, any PnP kit in a reflector is basicall crap, but I really don't want to go there...

those look awesome!

LightWerkz Does some amazing stuff, he started on subarus back in the day on iwsti.com.

^ the reflectors are designed to be used with hids

yes, its not legal. Whatever. As long as your not a dummie and have your headlights properly aimed along with being 4300k color temp you wont have problems, but will be able to see a lot better. If you're an idiot and put 12000k lights in you'll probably get a ticket.
Ummm, I have seen "idiots" put 4300k in the low beam reflector, lol. The higher the K (Yes, color temperature) the lower the light out put, lol. Dont tell me you have 12000k in your high beam!!! Man, that must be F***ED!. And if ya got 43's in your low.........dude.
