Raven, if the Taco air cleraner is the same as the HiLux, it was not the filter that let in the dirt.
In my HiLux 22RE the KN filter was longer and not as wide as the OEM filter.
You would had to push the filter in the air box and there was a gap where air and crap got past it. The only way I knew there was a problem was that the filter made a strang noise under hard throttle.

I have the TRD oilded filter. My Silicon is 6. 9 is the universal average.

How did you get a HiLux in the sates? his was I think a 95 (might have been a 96) 2.7L 4cyl, I have never seen a Hilux in person I don’t know if it had the same air box but I would think not as the Tacoma was a redesign, since you can see the holes in the filter I think it was the filter.

Does the TRD have visible holes in it? Is it small like the K&N or the same size as the OEM paper?

The HiLux was the mini truck was called in the USA pre the Taco.

The TRD is like the KN it has holes you can see.

In the United States, the Hi-Lux name was retired in 1976 in favor of Truck or Compact Truck
HiLux
It was not called the HiKux in the US but its still a Hilux

I forgot the congrats!

Glad you got one let me know if where you might go I might get option for a few hours. Tomorrow is my daughters Bday and she has a ballet performance..... but I still might be able to get some time on Sunday, If I keep all Monday for yard work.

I think it used to live near my house (RH) as there was a green locked, Borla, lift, and lockers but no ARB (over a year ago) But not that many HI PO dash units around PDX :") 12K sounds like a great price, I would check the PHH.

From what I've seen sounds like a great deal, how many clicks?

BTW, I'm about 90% sure I'm walking into Penthouse at o'dark thirty tomorrow, interested? Second and easier option is the run at teh bend below Feldheimers?

164K miles, which was higher than I wanted, but I decided that this one with 164 was in better shape and looked like it had been treated better than some I had seen with half as many miles.

I forgot to have the guys at LCNW check the heater hose when they were doing the check-up. How do you know if it has been done? I'm not sure what a fixed PHH looks like. Maybe we can hook up sometime and open our hoods side by side. I promise not to make any "my hose is bigger than yours" jokes. I guess it's time to search the archives again for the two zillion posts on the PHH.

I was planning on taking care of all my yardwork tomorrow and maybe fishing in the evening for a little while. Probably end up taking care of stuff around the house and fishing on Monday. I've gotta pick up my wife at the airport on Sunday morning, so Sunday is probably out for piscatorial endevors.

Got up at the normal work time not fishing time, wife guilted me into walking to Starbucks with my daughter (8) in the AM.

PHH, I had mine done when I had the front end serviced $350 for labor including the PHH. I bought the parts front end parts from Cdan (shameless plug) I was going to do it and couldn't find the time. Mine was bulging a little at 90K so I thought I would get it around to it as well. http://www.sleeoffroad.com/technical/tz_heater_hose.htm

164k shouldn't be an issue well for another 100+K anyway, unless your bling starts to fade.
