On a different topic but related to night driving, I've noticed that when it's raining my windshield has this hazed look to it right after the wipers pass, and it does not go away right away, if I shut them off then the haze goes away after a second or two but on continuous wipe it's always there. As soon as I have incoming traffic or street lights it's brutal. Anyone else have this issue? solutions? I've tried different wiper blades (including the new Rain X ones), cleaning the windshield with anything from windex to speciality glass cleaner, I'm about to give up and stop driving while it's dark and raining.

I've noticed this haze as well, and I'm afraid that it's actually CAUSED by Rain X.

I bought a bottle of rain X a few years ago and put it on my windshield a few weeks after I had the windshield replaced. So, brand new windshield, no grime, no muck, could see through it perfectly.
I put the RAIN X on and that night, could not see anything as I was driving with the wipers going. A white haze that refracts light and makes it impossible to see is temporarily created by each pass of the wipers.

I tried to clean the Rain x off with alcohol and a few other solvents, but had to wait for it to disappear on it's own. It eventually wore off and I have never used Rain X again on a glass that has wipers. Side windows fine. But not front or back.

The other pain is that a lot of the car washes use rain x. If I have the option, I go for the cheaper wash that doesn't use it, but sometimes I get hit with it anyways. I definitely notice it, but it's not nearly as bad as a full dose of Rain X from the bottle.

It's time to blind some more hippies as one of my LED reverse lights has burned out (actually it went awhile ago) and needs to be replaced. I see one of the LED mud vendors has some deals going, but for the $30 USD and NO shipping to Canada, I'm leaning more towards the good old Ebay option of $5 a pair.
Anyone have any other experience/options with LED reverse lights?

Quite some time back I ended up replacing all my lights with LEDs from Superbrightled, the company had pretty good reviews. One by one they all died. Cheap adhesive holding the LED housing onto the male jack portion. Those that didn't fall off from driving vibration would start to cut out. I ended up getting a few other ones (different brands) and for the most part it's the usual, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't expect long life out of the cheap ones.

As for the back, I got a pair of the LED bulbs for reverse lights that Christian brought in. They're great. I also added a LED square pod back there (like a driving light that's normally up front), now I can light up the licence plates on vehicles parked a block away
