G'day.
I have an HZJ80 (1HZ), 10/97.
This last 10-12 months it has developed an annoying starting problem.
1st thing in the morning, easy, starts no problems at all.
But after that, throughout the day, its a pain, takes a good 5-7 seconds cranking over on the starter before it will start, pretty much every time.
Fuel filer changed, twice.
Same issue on both tanks.
Checked for the gauze filter at the injection pump, it doesn't have 1, hmm.
Checked and tested the pre heater temperature sensor, it tests within spec.
Interestingly, if I disconnect this sensor 1st thing in the morning, it replicates the same issue as it has once it's warmed up, but connect this sensor and it starts fine, as it does 1st thing in the morning. Maybe this, or something in this system is an issue, pre heater timer maybe??
Checked both preheater glow plug relays, both tested well.
I'll check the timer once I locate it, apparently somewhere under dash near steering column (RHD Aussie).
Any suggestions?
