Hi all,

Newbie to the forum. I have a 1990 HZJ77 in New Zealand and trying to find parts this part of the world is near impossible. I'd really appreciate any links to international parts sites. Immediate need is suspension improvements but general parts would be most helpful too.

cheers and thanks,
Andy

Mechanically the parts will be the same as HZJ75 of the same years which was sold in NZ. Body parts will be similar to other 7* series.

The front springs and shocks will be the same as a 75 ,1984-98
The rears will probably be the same as 60 series.
I know Dobinsons Springs will have kits for these.

The best tip I can give is to ask for parts for a model your local dealer understands.
Think of it as a stretched BJ70 with a 1HZ engine

The 77 is an older version of the 76 series thats just been released in Australia and NZ(?)

Cheers for that Rosco. Most helpful.

Do you know if they are the same as 60 series springs? This is what the 70/73/74 series use on the rear.
Maybe they are the same as 75 rear springs:confused:

i'm almost certain that 60 series springs are wider...

Wider than what ? My 73 series rear springs have HJ60 stamped on them.

strange though, i've bought a u-bolt flip kit for 60 to fit on my rear axle on my hzj73 thinking the leafs were the same but there is certainly 1 cm difference between the U bolts...thats why i thought the 60 series leafs were wider than 70 series leafs...

but it certainly fits if you change the u-bolts i suppose but then again the eyes on the frame wouldn't fit also

Hi Rosco,
they are longer than the HJ60 rears, may be same as the 75 rears, don't have any 75 series rear springs in the shop to compare.
All Landcruiser springs have the same width.

I think the 75 series rear springs are 1282mm measured from the centre of the eyes fitted. You cant really measure them properly unless fitted .
Troopies and cab chassis 75series are supposed to be the same. I think 78,79 series are longer.

The 75 is the same pin to pin but they won't work on the 77, the centre pin distance is not the same. I found this out the hard way by putting some 77 springs under my 75. I cursed freely for an hour.

If you want some Zeal or Keep Slants give me a call. They are both local to me and I sell to them and buy from them regularly.
