I came into possession of my family’s old HZJ75 Farm Ute earlier this year and it came with a Thomas PTO winch attached it that hasn’t been used since the late 90’s.
I’m looking for some more information on the Thomas 8000lb winch I’ve done some basic research on PTO winches in general and have read the Manual for Thomas winches upload to the forms here. Ive managed to get the winch running and done a basic service on it greaseing all the nipples and replaced the oil with new 75-90gl4 oil. I’m struggling to locate the shear pin on the winch since I’m wanting to carry a few spares with me as I’m playing to use the Ute for 4WDing I’ve also noticed that I think my model doesn’t have a breather either and do the pto transfers run on a separate oil to the rest of the transfer case. Any more information on them would be greatly appreciated thank you.
