I dont think there is any magic cure except to try out your welding skills patching them up.
The best policy for them is prevention by fixing rust as soon as it starts and allowing the vehicle to dry out on the inside by letting the windows down on fine days.

This is a 'standard' issue in the 7 series. Most of them have this problem. I tried to avoid this by removing every bolt I could find on that frame and squirt lots of rust-inhibitor (ML) in the inners. At that time the rig was fairly new and it seems as if it helped.
But be aware of some other areas as well:
1. In between the frontdoor post and rear wheelwells
2. In between reardoor and rear wheelwells
3. The wheelwell seams where the inner and outer panels meet
4. Lower seams of the doors (where inner and outer panel meet

Especially the areas rearward of the frontdoor posts are at risk, despite treating them and drilling holes in the bottom (I found standing water in there!!) they now are being repaired because of rust.

Do you mean a 70 with the windscreen fixed permanently or a 73/74/75 with the separate frame that unbolts?

HZJ window frame

Guys ,

Did you consider having it galvanized prior to paint and isntallation for a liftime or so of no rust.....
