Has that been done before? I know Fj with 8.0 min has been done. My buddy has a 8.4 with out the 3rd laying around

do you mean Tacoma length Shafts..
No reason it would not work.. but the general consensus is that the stock shafts on tacos are week compared to the older minitrucks.
I would look at an FJ80 FF Rear if you want it that wide.. its already got disks, Ebrakes ect
