Hvac water leak

I don't know if this has been covered before. Had a drip every few minutes out of the Hvac case when the compressor was on. Found it was coming out of the evaporator cover. I removed the cover and found an intact yet smushed foam seal. Removed it and cleaned the channel it sits in then applied a strip of round butyl. Put it all back together and all is well. I have pics but it won't let me load them

Same exact issue on my 2000 with 260k. The drain was free and dripping but still had some come out the bottom of the condenser cover. I opened it up just like the pics show here. I cleaned it up, dried the original gasket and put it back in. It seems that the material has shrunk a bit and needed more. Didn't have any liquid gasket material handy or other so I used handi-tack- the white stuff use can used to hang paper on walls without taking the paint off. It is made of synthetic rubber and I rolled it out like we use to do with silly pudy to make an additional layer of gasket. Tightened it up and it's good.
