Humvee Replaced

Oshkosh (not the baby clothes company) won the US Army's bid for a light utility/combat multi-role vehicle that replaces the 1980's designed under armored Humvee called the JLTV (joint light tactical vehicle, powered by a GM Duramax.
It can ford 60 inches of saltwater, has 25-foot turning radius, climbs 24-inch vertical obstacles, drive off a 18-inch vertical step at 15 mph and climb a 60 percent gradient and traverse a 40 percent side slope. Weight 14,000 lbs and they call it ' light'. Reported cost $400,000+ each.

Well, let me tell you, my BJ42 can fully submerge in saltwater, or muddy water for that matter, 'cause it can run underwater all day long, turns on a dime, climbs 10 degree rock faces with ease, gets hung up on 18cm obstacles, traverses at least 15% side hills and weighs 5000lbs. It's light duty, under-powered and priceless. So that 'thing', even though it's completely awesome, has nothing on my cruiser.

Cool trucks but I'll keep my LC.
