I have ran across a EFI 2.8L 24v DOHC I6 from an 84 supra that needs minor work (new alt, fluids, wires, plugs, etc.) for free. How hard is this to put in an 84 hilux with the 2.4? is it worth it? What would I need? and whats the tech name for this motor? (7mg or what?)

As I understand it, the 5MG/7MG engines will bolt right up to the engine mounts and transmission of your truck. The hard part is all of the other stuff that you have to relocate or reroute to get it all working. Do an Internet search for this swap. You will find a lot of information on it. Some people think that it is easier than other swaps because it bolts up to the frame and transmission. But, I have read through a couple of the threads that documented this swap, and in my opinion, it is just as much work as any engine swap. Read C. Andrew Zook's write up on the swap he did into his `84 pick up. I think that you will see that it is still a lot of work.
