Getting ready for paint and was wondering how much to buy. I'm not touching the engine bay, nor interior, but I am doing all jambs. I'm either going two tone pollux and white or freeborn and white. Decided to paint the freeborn, or pollux, first and the white last. HVLP. Any input would be appreciated.

I would say one gallon of the main color and 1/2 gallon of the white. When I painted mine I used about 3 quarts of blue and 2 quarts of white with a standard spray gun in enamel.

That is a tough question to answer since a lot of it depends on the person doing the painting. I'm about 80 percent done painting mine. I decided to use the Kirker acrylic enamel because of cost and I had read some good things about it. Dupont and PPG charge too much. Anyway, I took my body off the frame so everything has been painted. Brackets, hinges, inside, I even painted behind the dash. When it's all done and said, I will have used about 3 1/2 gallons. 1 gallon for the darker lower color and 2 1/2 gallons for the light color that went everywhere else. I've made a few mistakes that had to be redone so that probably cost me the 1/2 gallon. If I had gotten everything right the first time, it probably would have been 3 gallons.

crazy the differnces in paint amount, i just use rustoleum in qt cans thinned with whatever is cheap and the repaint last w/e was just like all my other repaints, i buy two qts and have leftover for touchup.

I went with a gallon and after painting the roof only, I can already tell I'm going to plenty left over. You don't realize how damn big these things are until you start sanding, and sanding, and sanding.
