How much is a 22re turbo worth?

It will fit anything from 85+ with no mods, maybe a new wire or two. (correct me if im wrong)

It will bolt into anything from 79+, youll just need to wire it in. Which is easy/hard depending on what you have availble....

If you dont want it, just send it my way. They arent worht near as much as you think... :flipoff2:

You could easily get 700 out of the tranny if that answers anyquestions

sadly, IMO Turbos are not worth much. You simply cannot find one in proper running order that someone has not dedicated a lot of their own time and labor on to keep it running. And the sort of person that does that is rare. You have to remember, this was a burgeoning technology at the time.

The only differences in any Turbo, and any other Truck same make and model, is in the engine and engine management controls.

Here is the complete list of motors and their differences ala LCEngineering

no, let me rephrase that. I am glad they are not worth a boatload of cash! That keeps steelers and flippers and any other sort form asking PIE IN THE SKY prices that they already do for the likes of Land Cruisers and such.

Keeps pofolk like me able to buy a 20y.o + vehicle

Namely, I think things like the boost sensor....and...? You know what? I think the rest is in the ECU :hhmm:

Depends. If it's AT (All 4Runners and optional in SR5's) then it's just a run of the mill A340H IIRC. The 5speed is worth more but I'm not gonna throw gas on the fire over the internet and explain why :flipoff2:

unless you like paying premium?....then you go for it!:D

The trans is a 5spd. The bad is that the truck has set for the last two years. What whould it inteal to get it running?
My thought was to take a truck like an 82 (i like this body stile best) and put in the 22RT. How big of a project would this be?

is this a 4wd? or 2WD?

remove the turbo and check the shaft to see if it spins, and for free play.

other than that, it would be just like trouble shooting a regular EFI.

And unless you are a pro electrician I would NEVER attempt an EFI to an old carb cab like an 82...now a wiring harness fragment like ORS's...that would be a different story.

if it's a 2wd you do not have the desirable tranns....sorry:frown:

I currently own an 85 4Runner. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy a cleaner, later model truck and do an axle swap up front. It would be easier to start with a clean, well maintained truck.

I could have gotten to the same place with less expense/hassle by purchasing a clean 88 4Runner. I spent a lot of time making the interior liveable. That isn't important to some people, but it was to me. An SAS isn't that hard or expensive if you can do your own welding and fabrication.
