How much does your 60 weigh?

Seems hard to imagine that Stout bumpers, no matter how stout, could get you past the 7k mark. 80 gallons sure is a lot of gas. What setup do you have to carry that much fuel?

Question to all.......does anybody try and follow the GVWR? I know it's extremely difficult to stay underweight, especially when you have front and rear bumers, large tires, sliders, roof rack, drawers, gear, winch, etc. I just can't imagine driving my 62 around at 6000+ lbs, let alone 7000+. You guys that are way past GVWR, have you upgraded brakes or are you running stockers?

Hmmm.....maybe I should go weigh my Cruiser to see if I need to enroll at fat camp.

I'm wondering where the 80 gallons of fuel goes as well.
BTW, my SAE ref on gas or liquid fuels of all types lists gasoline ranging from 5.8 to 6.6 lbs/gal., so the 6.6 number above is worst case. (You oil burner types are 6.7-7.4 lbs/gal.)

I haven't weighed my 6T, but I'm thinking that maybe I should......

40 gallons of gas go into the tank and 30 on the roof and 10 on the rear tire rack.

I suppose I could dump the bumper and get an ARB for some weight savings.

Do you think it is worth the $$$? I'm not sure the weight differences between an ARB front vs. the Stout, but it couldnt' be more than 20-40 lbs. Have you weighed the front bumper alone?

Hey Mep, did you forget to unhitch the M-416 when you went to weigh in?:D

I still can't figure out how you put on so much weight.

Yes there was no trailer weighed. When you start adding up stuff the weight increases like

two spares
two high lifts
winch
recovery kit
roof rack
pull pal
gas plus gas cans
etc

How fat is the A** on that thing

I know this rig. You followed us around LSCR one afternoon. Lot of gear on there

If we start with a stock weight of 4300 lbs, we can at least guess at some things.

Let's say front bumper - 150
rear bumper - 170
sliders - 150
+1 spare over stock and oversize tires - 125
hi-lifts - 100
fuel - 520
rack - 85
winch - 130

That right there is 5730. Again, this is a guess on my part as some of those items I don't have, so if anybody else has more insight, please change my numbers.

So, we need to roughly find 1300 lbs from the items I didn't include......driver, recovery gear.......what else am I missing? I'm not knocking you Mep, I just really want to know where all that weight comes from.

If you are guessing your final weight for a week long trip to be ~7685 lbs., that is 2000+ lbs. OVER the recommended GVWR. IMHO, that is a little too much to ask from the vehicle.

How much does your cruiser weigh?

I checked with a guy who had the same bumper I have and he said that the front bunper was 200lbs and the rear was heavy enough to drop a heavy OME 3/4 ".

That still seems like about 1000 pounds too much. I built my own bumpers, heavy stuff. I have 35" tires and a H55F (well, HAD one) and I only weighed 4800, an even 5000 with me in the seat. I probably weigh 200 pounds LESS with the 350 vs. the 2F, but still...

I with the guys that suggest you get it re weighed before you make any changes. By the way my 62 comes in around 5700 lbs lightly loaded, jack, winch, tools, spares etc

Best of luck

2770 KG's
6106 LBS

Loaded. 37's with full spare, bumpers, armour, swingout, Rtt, rack, rear storage, at least 100lbs of tools and parts + wife and dog.

Before I did any work on my truck...ya' know as I got it.

5200LBS

2500LBS front axle
2700LBS rear axle

That was with about 1/4-1/3 of a tank of fuel, I have the LRA tank. I have a Ramjet so lighter then the stock engine. No tire carrier yet but a full sized 35" in the back, tools, highlift, ect...

Loaded and ready to go for a 4 month trip into Latin America, I am sure it will be every bit of 6-6,200LBS.

Good to see someone going south of the border with 35's...
We planning on running the same size tire but on a 16"rim on this future trip.
