How many cruisers have you hauled with your 80?

In last year Rubithon as we were leaving the staging area on the Tahoe side , there was a couple with a broken down CJ. They needed a tow to the main hwy because they could not find a tow truck to go into all the way to the staging area. She was really pissed at him for whatever reason.

I volunteered to give them a had and pretty soon we were slowly on our way.
The CJ had both rear axles broken. It was funny/scary to tow this thing. From the rear view mirror I could see the rear tires wiggling in and out. The road is downhill. And it made me think what would I have to do in case one of the axles came off.

Luckily nothing happened. We left them, on the side of Hwy 89. waiting for a real tow truck.

thats a great story... man! But when I first got my cruiser... I went up this hill until I hit snow.. found out it was a mountain... cruisin through 1.5 ft of power... went to turn around... got high centered. a 60's bronco and ford truck chained together pulled me out.

That was a great day for them... pulling out a cruiser. Havent been stuck since.

just the other day, i towed Spigot('77) with Betty('96).
last time i did this, i had a Tacoma.
i'll never forget the first turn i made at speed. i didn't hit the breaks, but just letting off the gas was enough to nearly jack-knife the whole setup.

this time using the 80, it was sooo much nicer.
the '77 hadn't gone that fast in years! ( i hit 60mph on a downhill )

what towbar are you using?

it's a Drawtite. i've got it all rigged with grade 8 bolts and a safety chain way stronger than i need.
