Father-In-Law gave me a 8K hand winch (AKA Come-Along) for Christmas. I borrowed his so many times in the last couple of years, he figured it was a good present. It definitely is! I'll probably throw it in the truck if I'm headed out alone and not completely confident in my currently non-working Warn 8274 winch.
I used my FIL's to straighten and tie off 5 trees in my back yard after Hurricane Katrina. I also used it to winch what was left of the 62 I parted out up on a trailer for its final ride to the recycler. It also pulled the same 62 off a trailer when I brought it home. It was much heavier back then.
If anyone needs to borrow it, say the word.
