My uncle was nonchalant About it, but to me looks like some frame rust on his 03’. Is this bad rust?? Should he take it to a mechanic?

We have salted roads in Idaho and he has never put on a rust protector... how long until it would end up deep rust?
Not that I can tell. How fast will it progress if he doesn’t put something on it?That looks like typical surface rust. Are there any holes?
No, it’s just surface rust. Fluid film it and drive...
Born and raised in VA, only been in AZ for a few years. I know bad rust when I see it. That ain’t it.A Mudder from Arizona says that rust is good to go, so you know it's true.
on which rig?Rust is fine on both vehicles (on BMW, the exhaust and the brake rotor will always have surface rust. Same for any vehicle). Tell your uncle to grease his ujoints, I don't see the typical grease splatter from them.
Land Cruiseron which rig?
thanks!
