ok i asked about this earlier and every one said it was my ground. well i re did all the grounds and its still burning up. i can run the cruiser for about 3 min at idol and then the alternator is so hot i cant touch it. its a GM alternator has a post on the back that says B+ and then a plug in the side with 2 prongs. i have the battery wired to the B+ and then the alt output and the alt excitor hooked up to the two prong plug like i was told to do. as soon as i start the cruiser the volt guage starts to climb right away to about above 14 volts. the only ground i have for the altenator is the 3 guage wire running from the top of the alternator braket to the frame. is there some other place i should be grounding this or does the alternator ground to the bracket through its bolts?
