Hook me up with a good GPS so I can run HUNT WY (Cheap)

I'm retarded when it comes to cell phones, GPS, etc.

I want to run this HUNT WY to see public and private lands.

All I really care about is how fast I'm going, Private/Public lands and being able to punch in a town and it giving me directions on how to get there.

I have an old TomTom and it works great other than the Private/public lands part. I don't want to carry it around as I want to perma mount it in my landcruiser. Also I don't want to spend a bunch of money because it's $100 for this software.

Looks like I need a color Garmin for this to work. GPS guru's what should I get? (used/ebay)

Looking at all those models makes my head spin, and all I want to do is those three things. (I sound like an old man)

Go to used GPS / EBay.com for a mid-level GPS. I work in Geology field science, and we only use (most) the middle-cost Garmins or Brunton models/brands. There ARE mucho models/brands out-there.
Look for ad that will let you return in 14days. Many out on eBay due to every year new models are released. and many, many people over buy with too many options that they sell. For about 200.00 used bid one can find a very clean/useful Garmin or Brunton. Stay away from - Maglen, Loran, and many of the low cost made in China GPS. They work, but 80% are made for women and men who use only on Highway travel!! For hunting and fishing on BLM Lands - buy the type where one can load software/maps. You will need ownership, County roads, and river status maps. So look for used, up-gradeable - i.e. adding maps and forget about the 600dollar used range. You will not use 50% of the options: If you keep-looking you will find a clean, nice med. size for about $200. - $ 300. on top bid or Buy-Now.
